It is a requirement within Alliance affiliated clubs that all Instructors, helpers and assistants working with children and young people (those under the age of 18) undertake a DBS check appropriate to their role. Club Welfare Officers and Association Safeguarding Officers will also need DBS checks.

The Aikido Alliance strongly recommends that those receiving DBS certificates register with the DBS Update Service. You must register within 30 days of the certificate being issued: https://www.gov.uk/dbs-update-service
